Boat & Safety Information

The “Kintyre Express” is a Redbay Stormforce 11 Metre R.I.B., with a centrally heated fully enclosed Cabin. The vessel is fully coded to the M.C.A. required Standards and crewed by fully qualified, experienced Skippers to ensure your safety at all times. Passengers Will be seated in aircraft style seating, fully strapped In and lifejackets will be worn at all times Whilst the boat is at sea.

The Redbay Stormforce 11 metre is internationally Renowned for its outstanding performance in rough Weather and with its powerful twin 245hp Yamaha Diesel engines to power her through the seas, it is not Surprising that a reporter from the magazine R.I.B. International recently said after a test drive in a Redbay 11 metre in adverse weather conditions:

SAFETY

SKIPPERS
All skippers hold the required qualifications to operate this vessel and will undergo regular training and exercises to maintain their skills.

Lifejackets shall be worn at all times. They are lightweight self-inflating jackets and are comfortable to wear. No matter how strong a swimmer you are, we have yet to come across someone who can swim when unconscious.

A safety talk and lifejacket demonstration will be given before every departure. Whilst we appreciate passengers may partake with a refreshment or two ashore we reserve the right to refuse boarding to anyone deemed unfit by the skipper. For safety we do not permit drinking in the cabin when the boat is underway or smoking at any time.

• Full Third party insurance is provided for all passengers
• Personal effects are carried at own risk
• You must inform the Skipper of any medical conditions before departure.

The sea is a beautiful environment but has its risks. We constantly inform the coastguard by VHF, of our estimated times of arrival and keep a vigil on our emergency channels for any mayday calls from other vessels that may be in trouble.

It will always be our priority to assist, if we are within range of any vessel in distress, even if means delaying or cancelling our scheduled trip.

CANCELLATION POLICY

ROUGH WEATHER
The skipper will reserve the right to cancel a sailing if after studying weather forecasts and sea conditions he considers it unsafe to sail, or for any technical difficulties that may prevent the vessel from sailing.

Naturally we would offer a full refund, or a rescheduled trip, if a cancellation had to be applied. Passenger safety will always be our priority !!

PASSENGER  CANCELLATION

In the event of passengers having to cancel a booking - 48 hours notice is required.

Charters - Seven days.
